Glenda was
born and raised in Canada and has been painting on feathers for over
ten years now. She has taken the idea, which has been done by
Native Americans for hundreds of years, and expanded on the process
by using a combination of techniques to protect and preserve these
fine works of art. She first selects goose or turkey feathers
that are suitable for her paintings and uses special cleaning agents
on them. Then she uses various glues and sealants to preserve
the shape or create feather combination desired for her preferred
canvas. Some of her paintings are quite elaborate, needing
multiple feathers to acquire the desired size. She then uses
acrylic & oil paints to create her exquisite paintings.
After she has completed her painting, she then sprays the entire
piece with a sealant to protect and preserve.
